Temporary Full Time Registered Pharmacy Technician

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The HHHS is currently seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to support clinical excellence and superior patient service.  Hours of operation for the Pharmacy department are from 4 and 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday. Shifts and hours may vary and change according to departmental requirements and as per the SIEU Collective Agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician program from a CCAPP accredited College, the PEBC
• Qualifying Exam and the OCP Jurisprudence Exam and is registered with OCP
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
• Demonstrated ability to work accurately with attention to detail
• Ability to function under minimal supervision
• Good knowledge of medication names and dosages
• Must be able to fulfill physical requirement of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
• Trained in EPIC preferred - training can be provided, but must pass required testing.
• Work experience in a hospital setting and with Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) accreditation processes is an asset: as are meeting leadership skills to support the Safer Pharmaceutical Committee

In addition, the successful candidate must be available to work day, evening and night shifts, along with weekends and statutory holidays.  An ability to attend work on a consistent basis is also a requirement.
