Staff Recognition

Awards and Recognition

At Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS), it is an honor to gather and celebrate a shared vision rooted in the belief that everyone deserves access to high-quality care, no matter where they live. Together, we strive to be the model of excellence in rural healthcare — a goal supported by our strategic directions that serve as our roadmap forward. We are committed to delivering compassionate, person-centred care; nurturing a thriving team culture; cultivating strong partnerships across our community; and building a sustainable future through responsible stewardship and innovation. Guided by our core values of compassion, accountability, integrity, and respect, we continue to grow and lead with purpose, ensuring these principles shape every interaction with patients, residents, families, and colleagues. At this year’s Service Recognition event, we proudly celebrate our dedicated staff and physicians reaching milestones from 5 to 35 years — a testament to the passion and commitment that define HHHS.

Long Service Awards

Each November, HHHS proudly recognizes team members celebrating meaningful service milestones — from 5 years onward — honoring the dedication and continuity that strengthen our organization. Those reaching 10 years of service and beyond are invited to select a commemorative gift through the Rembrandt Awards catalogue, acknowledging their ongoing contributions. Staff celebrating 25 or more years receive an additional special recognition, highlighting the extraordinary commitment they have made to HHHS and the communities we serve. These milestones represent more than years — they reflect relationships built, lives touched, and a shared journey toward excellence in care.

Peer-Nominated Awards - The Compass Award

In 2025, HHHS introduced peer-nominated awards to celebrate the outstanding contributions of our team in a meaningful new way. Four awards align directly with our strategic directions, reinforcing the values that guide our journey toward excellence. Staff were invited to nominate colleagues who exemplify these qualities, with submissions thoughtfully reviewed by an executive leadership committee. The winning name — the Compass Awards of Excellence — reflects how these honors celebrate individuals who keep HHHS aligned with our North Star: being an anchor for healthcare in Haliburton while optimizing community well-being. Presented annually, these awards recognize excellence, innovation, collaboration, and dedication — and we extend our gratitude to every nominated employee who represents the very best of HHHS.
