Haliburton Highlands Health Services, working with partners and accountable to our community, promotes wellness and provides access to essential, high quality clinical programs including Primary Care, Hospital (Acute Inpatient and Emergency Care at the Haliburton site) Long-Term Care, End-of-Life Care, Mental Health & Addictions Services, Physio, DEN/Gain, and Community Support Services for the residents, cottagers, and visitors of Haliburton County and the surrounding areas.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Director, Facilities Management is responsible for providing strategic and operational oversight for all aspects of the facility’s buildings and grounds.  This role also provides leadership and mentorship to the Manager, Environmental Services and Facility Operations, ensuring effective and efficient operation of all aspects of the department including general maintenance, security, housekeeping and laundry.  In addition, the Director, Facilities Management is responsible for the planning, organizing and implementation of all projects pertaining to the physical buildings and/or their operations, and the grounds. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A graduate of a recognized educational institution with certificate of qualification in Architecture, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Stationary Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent building related field. 
  • Possess a minimum of five (5) years progressive management experience in Engineering/Facility Services, preferably in a hospital and/or long-term care environment, and demonstrating extensive knowledge of systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and code compliance.
  • Exceptional Project Management skills required.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to unpredictable and changing situations.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, in addition to effectively leading a team.
