Dear Community,
We are delighted to share that Dr. Benjamin Chen will be joining the Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS) team as a Consultant General Internist. Over the course of Dr. Chen’s career, he has been a Family Physician, an Educator, an Associate Professor at Queen's University, and a Rural Internist. Dr. Chen said it best; “Just as it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a community to care for a patient.”
The new Internal Medicine Clinic provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for patients needing short-term care from an internal medicine specialist who have been:
- Discharged from the hospital after being admitted for an acute visit;
- Have had a hospital visit that did not involve going through the Emergency Department but requires follow-up; or
- Have been referred by a primary care physician or nurse practitioner.
In addition, the Internal Medicine Clinic provides consultation to family practice for patients with acute medical issues or patients with multiple complex medical problems.
Location:
The Internal Medicine Clinic is located at the HHHS Minden Health Hub beside the Urgent Care Clinic at 6 McPherson Street, Minden.
The entrance is on the lower level at the side of the building. Using the Urgent Care entrance, follow the wayfinding signs to check in.
