On March 2, 2025, the Haliburton Kawartha Northumberland Peterborough (HKNP) Health Unit (formerly the Haliburton Pine Ridge District Health Unit) declared Highland Wood Long Term Care Home to be in a Respiratory Outbreak.
We are pleased to announce that thanks to the Highland Wood team, on March 12, 2025, the Health Unit has deemed the outbreak over.
Visitors are encouraged to wash their hands frequently using the alcohol hand rub supplied through-out the home.
Visitors with respiratory symptoms should postpone their visit for at least 5 days after the onset of symptoms.
