Dear Community,
TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK!
I am happy to report that Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS) received:
Accreditation with Commendation!
To say that this accomplishment is a team effort would be an understatement. Not only does our Accreditation with Commendation speak to the professionalism and care our organization provides but also showcases our continued success of supporting health and wellbeing in our community.
Accreditation is “A self-assessment and external peer assessment process used by health care organizations to accurately assess their level of performance in relation to established standards and to implement ways to continuously improve.” https://accreditation.ca/
HHHS Staff and Accreditation Surveyors acknowledged a significant positive change in culture, highlighting the thoughtful new approach to internal and external communications, which leaves team members feeling more informed and included. From a client, patient, and resident perspective, the Surveyors raved about the implementation of electronic medical record systems including Epic and Alayacare and the positive impacts on improved documentation, flow of consistent information and ability to use data for informed decision-making. In the coming years, HHHS looks forward to continuing to enhance quality by leveraging technology to strengthen patient safety, utilizing data to implement meaningful changes and including Community Advisors feedback. Using data from barcode scanning, length of stay, number of falls or pressure ulcers enables staff to implement improvements to care further increasing the quality of care.
Team,
Whether you provided a snapshot into your role, were a member of the team who presented to the Surveyors that toured our facility this year, worked tirelessly on policy/procedure updates, or continued to live our policies, procedures, and values, THANK YOU. This is an incredible moment in HHHS history, and you should all be so proud of this accomplishment.
Congratulations!
