Dear Community,
We are pleased to announce that Jennifer Burns-West will be joining the HHHS team as Chief Nursing Executive & VP Clinical and Community Support Services on September 5, 2023.
Prior to accepting this role, Jennifer spent 30 years with our neighbours at Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH) as Director of Surgery, Obstetrics, Pharmacy, Dialysis and Health First.
In her time at RMH, Jennifer accumulated many accomplishments. In years past, Jennifer was heavily involved in the introduction of RMH's preoperative clinic, worked in collaboration with PRHC on the development of their STEMI program, and helped with the implementation of Hospira pumps within the hospital. More recently, Jennifer oversaw RMH’s COVID-19 vaccination operations, including at the LEX, and opened a Women’s Health Clinic providing non-urgent care to women without access to a family doctor or nurse practitioner.
Prior to her incredible impact at RMH, Jennifer worked as a Nurse at HHHS. "I’m looking forward to a change - to new opportunities and experiences. It’s kind of a natural progression.”, says Jennifer on her upcoming transition to HHHS.
“We are extremely excited to welcome back Jennifer to our HHHS family! Her positive manner and energy will help move Haliburton Highlands Health Services into the future.”, says Veronica Nelson, acting CEO & President of HHHS.
Congratulations, Jennifer! Welcome to the team!
