Please be aware that a COVID outbreak has been declared in Highland Wood Long-Term Care (LTC) facility, effective November 30th, 2023.
The outbreak is inclusive of: Any resident or staff of Highland Wood with or without symptoms compatible with COVID-19, with an onset date of November 30, 2023 or later, test evidence of COVID – 19 (PCR, RAT, RMT); where infection could have reasonably been acquired in Highland Wood LTCH, or where infection could have been transmitted in Highland Wood.
Effective Immediately:
- Visitors are restricted to Essential Visiting Only.
- No admissions to or transfers from Highland Wood at this time
- All residents in Highland Wood Long-Term Care are being cared for with enhanced droplet/contact precautions
- Enhanced environmental cleaning with attention to high touch surfaces is in place
New guidance and reminders:
- All staff working in Highland Wood Long-Term Care are required to wear N95 masks and eye protection at all times.
- All staff and patients outside of LTC are required to wear a procedure mask in all care areas, including common rooms, effective immediately.
