Haliburton Highlands Supportive Housing

and Assisted Living Services

Supportive Housing

The Supportive Housing program provides care to adults who need assistance due to frailty, cognitive impairment, physical disabilities and/or acquired brain injuries, who also live within 3 - 5 minutes of the “hubs” in the villages of Minden, Haliburton and Wilberforce. The program is funded through the Central East Local Health Integration Network and is offered at no cost to clients who meet the above criteria. If appropriate services are not immediately available, eligible clients are placed on a waiting list.

Services include Personal Care such as help with dressing, grooming, washing, toileting and mobility;  Homemaking Services including light dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, laundry, grocery shopping and meal preparation;  and Security Checks that include regular contact via intermittent visits and telephone calls.

Services are available from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Areas of Service:  within 3 or 4 minutes of the following:

Assisted Living

Similar to the Supportive Housing program, Assisted Living addresses the needs of high risk seniors who are still able to reside in their own home but require the availability of personal support, homemaking, security checks and reassurance services.  It focuses on those seniors whose needs cannot be met through home and community services solely on a scheduled visitation basis.

Clients who meet the above criteria and live within an approximate 15 km radius of our Haliburton Hub will be eligible for the Assisted Living Program.
