Emergency Response Systems
The Emergency Response System is an easy-to-use personal response service that ensures seniors and adults with disabilities and/or illnesses can receive quick assistance whenever needed, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. To call for help, simply press the button on the device you wear as a pendant or wristband. The button activates a small in-home communicator that automatically dials our Emergency Response Systems trained staff at Northern Communications, who in turn contact the person designated to assist in an emergency.
The Emergency Response System is essential for seniors who live alone or need to quickly contact help for medical reasons, as well as people who are handicapped and trying to maintain their independent lifestyle. It provides a complete sense of independence.
HHHS Staff and volunteers assist with the installation of the alarm devices in your home. The Emergency Response System costs $25.00 per month. There is a $25.00 one-time installation fee. If the system is removed less than a year after being installed there is a $25.00 removal fee. There is a $5.00 monthly charge for each additional pendant.
This is an important service - one that could save your life
Studies show that 30 per cent of people over the age of 65 living in the community experience a fall each year. Most of those falls happen at home. Early intervention after a fall reduces the risk of serious complications and increases the likelihood that people can return to independent living.
