Transportation

Transportation services are available to seniors and adults with disabilities and/or illnesses and their caregivers.

The objective of this service is to provide transportation to eligible clients to attend medical appointments when friends and relatives are not availalbe to assist. The service may also be available for shopping and social or recreational activies for those who meet eligibity requirements. 

For all transportation, local or out of town, our registered volunteers, driving their own vehicle, offer a low cost, door to door 

service with a personal touch.  Fees are the responsibility of the client and the cost of the trip is based on kilometres travelled by the volunteer.  There are also various rates for in-county transportation.  Please discuss the current mileage and minimum rates with the coordinator.

Wheelchair Accessible Van Service

This service offers regularly scheduled transportation into Haliburton Village for groups of clients in outlying areas who wish to go into town for various shopping and social activities.   It is wheelchair accessible, facilitated by well-trained and paid staff.  Local and long-distance trips are also available.

The van currently operates Monday to Wednesday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.  

48 hours notice is required and costs vary per trip.
